Biography

Edwin (°1963) joined Across Health Netherlands in January 2009. Since January 2010, Edwin is the Managing Director of Across Health Netherlands. Edwin is also responsible for several of Across’ Dutch and International accounts. Edwin brings 20 years of pharmaceutical (online) marketing and sales experience in several European countries, working closely with an international network of operating companies and external parties. This included intensive collaboration with the North American and European affiliates, scientific associations, professional conference organizers, communication and market research agencies and medical key opinion leaders (KOL) around the world. Edwin was responsible for product marketing and communication of several brands at Organon, both locally as well as at global head office in the Netherlands. He co-developed Phase III, premarketing strategies for key brands in psychiatry.

Edwin became actively involved in interactive and internet pharma marketing and communication in 1997 by launching one of the first KOL peer-to-peer initiatives in pharma. Between 1999 and 2003 he co-founded and co-managed Organon’s global e-Business group. In this capacity, Edwin and co-workers were instrumental in developing and launching professional and consumer portals, disease and brand sites, and email campaigns.

In 2003, Edwin went on to lead the European operations of Elsevier Interactive Solutions (now: Excerpta Medica Interactive). At Elsevier, he was responsible for building and maintaining client relationships among global pharmaceutical companies located in Europe. The agency’s services included e-business/e-marketing consultancy, web development, web analytics and SEM.

In his free time, Edwin can be found behind his drum kit, at the wheel of his convertible sports car or on the ski slopes.  Edwin enjoys preparing dinner for friends and family while enjoying a nice glass of wine.
