Biography
Ludo Van den Kerckhove (°1958) joined Across Technology as a partner in March 2010. He is an experienced general manager, trusted advisor and certified personal coach. Ludo holds a Master in Civil Engineering, Electronics and Information Management from the University of Ghent, completed a postgraduate course in economics at the University of Antwerp and followed a general management course at Insead-Cedep Fontainebleau. Today he is a member of the advisory board of CIOnet.
Ludo began his career with a University of Ghent spin-off developing and commercializing one of the first real WYSIWYG scientific word processors. Once this successful product was sold to Olivetti he stepped into a new role at a leading energy company where he piloted early GIS-systems and developed the B2C-billing platform.
Growing with the company that was to become Electrabel and later GDF-Suez, he held regional and global positions of increasing responsibility in the energy sector. At the end of the nineties, Ludo co-designed the company’s new business model and from 2000 on he shaped and managed the B2B sales for Belux, establishing new pricing models, customer support and an integrated CRM-environment.
In 2003 Ludo was appointed CIO and effectively transformed the IT department from being a scattered group of local entities to a trusted business enabler with European governance, strong portfolio management, fiercely reduced costs, multi-sourcing, ITIL-based shared services and a complete culture transformation. On top of that the strategic target architecture was defined and a multi-year SAP standardization and simplification program was launched.
In more recent years, he created his own consultancy company, worked as a CEO for Atos Origin Belux and focused on IT strategy, IT assessment, sourcing, organizational design and executive coaching. Deliverables include: the operating model for a large bank, mediation for outsourcing for a large telco, program management for a large logistic services company, CIO and team coaching.
At Across Technology, Ludo focuses on business-IT fusion and strategy implementation. He enjoys working at the exciting intersection of technology, commercial effectiveness, business strategy and innovation and strongly believes that the right combination of experience, change and performance management, and genuine human interest boosts the hidden potential of IT and enables the CIO and his team to innovate and grow the business.
Ludo is a family man and in his spare time plays tennis, loves traveling, photography and watching movies.
