Biography
Marc Vael (°1967) is a partner at Across Technology. An ICT expert with strong audit and control experience, Marc is also board member of ISACA Belgium and advisor to the Board of ISSA Brussels European Chapter. With a Master in Applied Economics and Information Management, Marc applies a structured and methodological approach in combination with clear and direct communication to deliver pragmatic, high-quality results in line with client expectations.
Marc started his career with a large IT services organization where he developed and reviewed business applications. He then built his expertise in IT governance, IT risk, and IT audit, collaborating with worldwide audit and advisory companies where he also functioned as National Security Officer and Data Protection Officer.
Marc’s current work includes coaching executives on developing IT Governance-Risk-Compliance and on information protection, business continuity and data privacy/protection. He develops practical education workshops and awareness sessions on these topics. Recent missions were executed at companies in the following industries: pharmaceutical, services, technology, retail and distribution, insurance and automotive.
