Biography
Steven Verhoest joined Across Technology as an UI expert and consultant in 2008. Steven works at Across with major clients on Wireframes, stand-alone applications, presentations and websites.
Steven started his web career at "The Reference" and later as Creative Director at e-COM Interactive, the consultancy firm founded by Peter Hinssen. Steven was responsible for the design and the user interfaces of large-scale Internet, e-commerce projects and information systems for DHL Worldwide Express, S.W.I.F.T., BBL, Alcatel, SONY Europe, Belgacom and Volvo.
Steven worked for three years at ING as independent web designer/developer, designing the online car insurance application and the interface for the new ATM systems.
He studied industrial design, which he finished with distinction in 1990. He always knew that he was passionate about technology, computers and design. That's is also the reason why he immediately jumped on the internet wagon from the first moment it came available, thus having 15+ years of experience in the field.
Steven tries to find the thin line between looks and functionality. He will use proven usability semantics and merge them with the look and feel that's appropriate for clients’ website or web application. His mottos are "don't make me think" and "there are no problems, only solutions".
From time to time he's asked to give trainings and lectures on web development related topics.
