Bart (1966) is an international manager with over 15 years of experience in the sector of health and life sciences.
In his first role, Bart was assistant researcher at the University of Jyväskylä in Finland and worked at the Governmental Health Department as Health Promotion and Education Manager.
In 1994, Bart joined J&J at Janssen-Cilag in the Netherlands as a sales representative in primary care. He went on to hold commercial positions within the operating company, increasing his responsibility in sales and marketing in roles such as product specialist, project manager and product manager.
At the international level, Bart played a key role in the commercial evaluation of licensing and business development opportunities. As a global strategic marketing manager at Johnson & Johnson, he prepared the international launches of key J&J products in the pain franchise.
For CENTOCOR's global market development group, Bart was responsible for driving key commercial initiatives to support the business in Europe as well as consulting on the brand strategy for a blockbuster product, through cooperation with the commercial partner company.
An entrepreneur as well as a team player, he started his own company in 2007. His most recent assignments before joining Across included medical education for Janssen-Cilag EMEA, the product launch of a novel psychiatry product for Janssen-Cilag Netherlands and a business development project in medical devices for a US VC. In addition to his management consulting activities, Bart will now begin to build Across in the Netherlands.
Bart holds university degrees in Health Sciences, Health Promotion and Education.
Besides that he has a BA degree in Physical Education.
When not at work Bart spends his time with the family; raising his three girls as another challenge. He's passionate about sports and travel, plays field hockey and likes to sail the waters.
