Marcel, a PhD in Medicine, joined Across Health in March 2008 with more than 10 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry. During those 10 years, Marcel gained unique experience in sales and marketing roles with increasing responsibility, both at the national and international level. In his last role before joining Across Health, Marcel was part of a small international team of selected individuals responsible for managing a complex partnership worth over 1 billion dollars in sales.
Marcel also boasts a rich experience in patient health education campaigns, using an integrated multichannel approach including disease and product websites, printed material as well as PR (radio and TV). More recently, he developed a specific interest in opportunities for collaborative web 2.0 applications in the health industry.
Marcel also gained in-depth experience in change management. As a member of the team that led the organizational change at one of his past employers, he learned to increase efficiency and effectiveness in the face of a rapidly changing external and internal environment. Marcel thrives on innovation, is business-savvy and combines a strong analytical mindset with a hands-on mentality.
He is a trained medical biologist with a PhD in Medicine, obtained at the Erasmus University in Rotterdam, the Netherlands.
During his free time, Marcel is busy raising his daughter and son and dreaming about becoming active again as a golfer, one of his passions in life.
