In his career, Ruud Kooi (1973) has owned two healthcare marketing and e-business firms. Born and raised in the Netherlands, Ruud has lived in Zimbabwe and Belgium. He also spent a number of years in South Africa where he founded his first company, The Basics, which specialized in online healthcare marketing with a focus on market research, e-ROI analysis, web strategy and project management. After moving back to the Netherlands, Ruud worked for customers included Janssen-Cilag, Ortho Biotech, Tibotec and Johnson & Johnson Medical Devices & Diagnostics.
Ruud brings a vast amount of pharmaceutical in-house experience having been employed in the past by Janssen-Cilag Netherlands, Ortho Biotech Europe and Janssen Pharmaceutica in Beerse, Belgium. He founded the first J&J EMEA call center in the country as part of the company's European CRM approach and led the e-business process for the oncology, nephrology and pain franchises. In Ortho Biotech, Ruud managed various Internet-based projects focused on customer retention and loyalty. In Janssen Pharmaceutica, Ruud helped build the company's first e-ROI models and set-up various product and disease portals in EMEA.
Ruud brings a mix of entrepreneurship, project management skills and hands-on experience in healthcare. He is used to working and communicating with people from diverse cultures and in many styles, which makes a perfect fit for leading international project teams in a global business.
