Bie De Graeve (◦1956), Flemish-speaking Belgian living in the medieval city of Ghent, has built up a professional career in Organization and Management Development. She has accumulated considerable experience in a broad and colorful range of environments including the public sector (city council museum), academic graduate teaching and academic research (University of Ghent), consulting, training and Executive Management Education.

Her Executive Education Career started in 1986 at The Vlerick School of Management (B), where she grew into the positions of Director General Management Programs, and Director In-company Programs.

Between early 1999 and 2000, Bie De Graeve divided her professional activities between IFL – Swedish Institute of Management (Stockholm/Brussels) and Tias Business School (Tilburg University, The Netherlands).

For IFL, she worked part-time as Project Manager International Marketing, based at the company’s Brussels home. Within the Business Unit of the Partnership Programs, she supported the team in building the brand name and attracting new, non-Scandinavian clients.

At the former Tias Business School (Tilburg University & Technology University Eindhoven), Bie started in 1999 as a Senior Client Manager for all In-company Programs with global clients, and devoted much time to the development of a master’s degree program in Retail Management. During this period she served clients including Campina, C&A Europe, SD WORX, and CSM.

Following various stages of growth within Tias Business School, De Graeve became the Director of the MBA Division at the Tilburg Campus. In July 2006, after the major acquisition of NIMBAS Graduate School of Management (Utrecht/Bonn/Taipei), she was responsible for the integration process of the two merging schools and cultures. Equally, as the General Manager TiasNimbas Campus Utrecht, she developed the full MBA portfolio at the multiple locations in the Netherlands and Germany (including Sales Reps offices in Berlin and Taipei).

As both General Manager of a multiple-location organization and as a member of the Executive Board and Supervisory Board of TiasNimbas Business School, Bie always favored her role as management development advisor and executive education promoter - seeing it as a significant tool for Sustainable Growth in companies and organizations.

Her joining the Across group, in January 2008, has allowed Across Technology to provide a unique combined service: management development expertise and consultancy in the much-neglected field of technology/IT awareness, which in its turn raises a healthy feel for change in a rapidly transforming (technology-driven) business environment.
Education and management development programs on demand, rousing key-note speeches, motivating lectures, interactive workshops, board meetings, corporate events....

With her own management consultancy firm, APINI bvba, Bie creates management development programs, and gives advice on (people) change processes and post-acquisition cultural and mental shifts. Additionally, she functions as a relationship manager for larger In-company Programs within or without a business-school context.

Besides Management Philosophy, Bie has a keen interest in wine, food and cooking, jazz and opera, architecture and design, traveling, oral history, and contemporary (female) novelists. She is also a serious cat lover.
As a true believer in historical identities as a driving or obstructing force of prosperity, Bie has closely been following recent Belgian politics as a major source of learning.
