Johan De Geyter (°1969) joined Across Technology as Director Innovation in January 2012. He is an experienced manager with a focus on technology innovation and organizational change. Johan holds a Masters in Military and Aeronautical Science from the Military Academy of Brussels and a Masters in Information Technology from the University of Brussels. Johan completed a postgraduate degree in Economics at the University of Brussels.
Johan began his career as IT project officer in the Belgian Air Force. As a member of the methodology-group he was responsible for the implementation of projects in various fields (i.e. HR, Finance, and radar-communication).
After leaving the Air Force in 1999, he became product manager of a new IT-business line in a start-up company providing software for television stations. Johan was one of the early adopters of agile software development, focusing mainly on the business potential of this new methodology.
In 2002 he was responsible for the European IT operations of a leading airport service provider. He was a member of the operational management team, including COO, CFO and country Managing Directors, responsible for more than 1000 users in 15 European locations.
In recent years, he was director of a design department (75 FTE) in a large semi-conductor research institute. This department created innovative “proof-of-concepts” for mobile devices, both in high performance (found in tablets) and (ultra) low power (Hyperspectral endoscopy cameras). These new technologies enable companies to explore new business opportunities (e.g. personalized and individual healthcare monitoring).
At Across Technology, Johan’s focus is on business and IT-innovation. He is helping IT departments to become the company innovators and helps business units to unlock the potential of new technology.
Johan loves to travel (with his wife and kids), Japanese food and cinema.
